Description
A very rare and unique Satsuki Hybrid evergreen Azalea, ‘Kobai #2’ sports abundant deep reddish pink to pink flowers with swirled white variegation across the petals. The flowers shine against a background of dark green foliage in late spring to early summer often with a lighter rebloom in fall. In case you were wondering if there is a Kobai #1…yes, there is, but it is not as desired because most of its flowers are white with a few deep pink flowers whereas Kobai #2 has mostly deep pink flowers with the white variegation, which is what makes it so special. Growing naturally to only 2 to 3 feet high and equally as wide makes this one excellent for use in garden beds, pots or bonsai. We love this adorable azalea with big flower power and think you will too!
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing in a low mound 2 to 3 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide, the Kobai #2 Azalea is ideal for use as an accent in smaller garden spaces or in groupings or as a border in landscape beds or along paths and walkways. Its smaller size makes it an excellent choice for containers and bonsai or where a low flowering evergreen is desired in home foundation plantings. A fine addition to bonsai gardens, Asian-theme gardens, pink theme gardens, Azalea gardens, cottage gardens, and partially shaded woodland gardens.Â
Suggested Spacing:Â 2.5 to 3 feet apart for solid hedges; 7 feet or more apart for space between plants

Growing Preferences
Evergreen Azaleas are easy to grow when planted right and in the right spot. They prefer a moist but well-drained and acidic soil that is rich in organic matter and part sun. Morning sun with afternoon shade or filtered sun is ideal. Moderate drought tolerance when established.Â

I love this little Azalea. Wilson Bros did an amazing job of packaging this little plant and it was able to withstand a very long shipping process. It is hearty and adorable. The shiny little leaves are simply beautiful and I can hardly wait to see a bloom! It would be perfect for a bonsai and I hope more of them are offered.—————————————————-Thanks for the photo!
